NFTF is currently laboring through Keith Richards’ minutia laden tome “Life”. This thing is huge and when lugging it around really is painful when it hits NFTF in the side as they run to catch a bus etc. NFTF has managed to eke out small tid bits of facts such as why his teeth were so bad back in his early days (they really used to grose us out), and Brian Jones was a bad asthmatic whose heart was swollen and liver was bad when he drowned. Little is said in reference to Gram Parsons death in Joshua Tree thus far. But, there is much to be said about his drug use and many attempts at rehab. Richards has a recipe in his tome about how to mix heroin with lactose …97% lactose and 3% heroin. Richards tell us that if it’s any different “Boom…good bye”. So of course this has left NFTF wondering about his now departed mates not knowing how strong the shit they were getting was. So far, Richards has put a huge distance between himself and those that have overdosed that’s as big as the Grand Canyon. NFTF has also found Bill Wyman had struck up an unlikely alliance with Marc Chagall in France. They were in exile from their motherland at the time. According to Richards, they spent a lot of time traveling in the South here in America and picked up a lot of blues based influence from their adventures…no matter how drug riddled or convoluted it seems. As NFTF wades through this tome, it has looked to see if the price is a bit more than lets say Steven Tyler’s latest book. It is. NFTF’s guess is that Richards needs cash so he goosed up the pages in order to charge more. Drugs are not free.
