NFTF got into a conversation with a concert promoter the other day and the conversation turned toward local talent and Skin Flick. There have been other times that internet radio has asked about them as well and each time NFTF has let it go and gone about their rockin business. This time it’s different, NFTF has several cuts from both CD’s on their ipod and began listening and remembering the first show they ever did. It was at the Cobalt Cafe in Canoga Park, CA. NFTF had expected the average garage band, but instead was blown away. Joe had even remarked “Bet cha thought that we just a garage band…huh!” This band had described their brand of music as Bastard Rock and they came onto the scene whining and wailing as if Satin had shot them out of a cannon onto an unsuspecting world. They released two CD’s: Reality Machine and Sin Filled Valley which contained several cuts that had a great deal of potential. Skin Flick changed their personnel (Joe and Scott left) and the band morphed into something a bit different and then they flickered out. No gigs, no new music to speak of…where the hell are they? You can go to their website: http://www.skinflickmusic.com, friend them on Myspace or on Facebook as the Northridge, Ca choice. Listen to their old material from Reality Machine and sin Filled Valley back in the early 2000’s and the added stuff from 2010. This is a real mystery and NFTF loves a mystery. Skin Flick get Joe and Scott back and get your asses back into the studio PLEASE. LA needs your Bastard Rock!
