Betty Lynn’s brainchild “www.hollywoodagogo.com will soon be celebrating it’s 9th year in operation as a place to go and see who was whom back in the 60’s and 70’s. According to Lynn, it’s about the scene that was fomenting on the Sunset Strip: the clubs, bands and the people who created the scene back in the day. If for no other reason do check it out to see if you know or remember anyone if you there at the time. Originally, there was a TV show called “9th Street West” which was hosted by Sam Riddle and later morphed into “Hollywood A GoGo”. Now it’s an info laden website where one can go and take a trip through the “scenester” list of “Faces” that helped to mold the Sunset Strip’s unique rock and roll culture of the day. Lynn began the site in 2003 when she found that she had a huge collection of photos to share from her days as a “scenester”. Lynn began doing research on the internet where she found Terry Rae and Don Adey who in turn also had a treasure trove of pics from the local scene to share. Along with the pictures came a lot of interesting stories that also needed to be told and http://www.hollywoodagogo.com was born. In case you are wondering about Rae and Adey they are both hard boiled local musicians from that era that know the history of the Sunset Strip backwards, forwards and it’s comings and goings. Read more about them on the website. Among the pics one will spot are: Whiskey A Go Go, Led Zeppelin, The Starwood, Gazzari’s, Don Adey and Terry Rae, Eddie James and you’ll find NFTF on Faces 5 2/27/2011. June 2013 will be http://www.hollywoodagogo.com’s 10 year anniversary and NFTF cannot wait to see what Lynn comes up with to celebrate the special occasion…the Stones’ “Goin To The GoGo”?
