The Hammer of the Gods struck on 9/23/2013 at The Roxy and from it’s smite sprang The Lady; and The Lady saw that all was gold and was pleased. And so it was at the Led Zepagain concert for AXS TV’s “World’s Greatest Tribute Bands” season finale featurning the legendary Led Zeppelin tribute band Led Zepagain.
Originally, NFTF was situated in the very front of the stage but began to have a Robert Plant Fresno concert de ja vu twinge and moved to the back of the venue as it was not NFTF’s desire to repeat that Fresno episode. NFTF situated itseld by Tom and Kat and had a lovely time exchanging sweat. The gig brought up a memory from the 60’s of a show from the then morphing New Yardbirds to Led Zeppelin on the island of Catalina. Hullabaloo friends Cole Kessler and Frank West had attended the show and related the unforgettable experience as being memorable because it shook the Avalon Ballroom to it’s foundation and that pieces of the ceiling began to rain upon the attending crowd.
For NFTF the Roxy show surely loomed large as a good reminder of how brilliant a band Led Zepagain is and how Led Zeppelin was as the Roxy shook and shuddered as the ceiling for cetrain lost it’s integrity on this unforgettable night. Kudos to host Kate Daryl for booking Led Zepagain as the show’s season finale as it made an indelible mark upon the fabric of tribute bands who aspire to wield the Hammer of the Gods.
Toward the closing of the show NFTF was inspired to move away from the heat and persperation of the mob and move toward an airy passage way when the Maven found herself being moved toward the left side of the front of the stage where NFTF was able to fully appreciate the full force of the exploding talent of the Led Zepagain members… High fives for all of the members as well as Kate Darly.
NFTF still finds itself scratching their head going “wow, and to think Swan used to do the sound in my nightclub.”
